Roulette Rules

You might feel overwhelmed by the game play of the roulette rules but it is quite uncomplicated but you should be familiar with the roulette rules before you start placing any big bets. As well as roulette rules, this page will deal with other issues that concern the game, so you don't make a fool out of yourself and bust your bankroll too early.

The first thing you'll want to become acquainted with is the table minimums. If you're playing at a $5 minimum table you are then required to pay a $5 on each of the outside bets. And a total of $1
on your inside bets.

Outside bets:

  • Black/red
  • Odd/even
  • High/low

Or you can always place the equivalent of $5 by placing 5 inside bets on random numbers or combinations of numbers.

You'll also notice that you use different chips then you would at a blackjack table. In American roulette rules each player is given a specific colored chip, so the dealer can tell the difference between your bet and another players. You'll also notice that these chips are worthless at every other casino table game. Once you are done playing the dealer will exchange your roulette chips for normal chips.

Secondly, you'll have to tell the dealer the value of chip you want to use. (For a $5 minimum table you will want to get $1 chips) You'll have to determine your betting strategy before you ask for chips, so you don't spend too much money too quickly.

Thirdly these roulette chips won't have any denomination on them, they will just be a color reflecting how much they are worth.

Unlike blackjack, roulette moves at a slower pace and is more relaxed then other games. If you want to make a bet and someone has already put their chip down on your number, you can place your chip on top.

You can even continue betting before the wheel has spun, but don't try placing any bets after the dealer waves his hand over the wheel. Once the ball has landed the dealer will call out the number that's won and will place a marker on that number. After the dealer will clean off the table, and don't place a bet until he calls for new bets.
